This INIT, which works under System 6.0.7 or higher, plays AIFF (Audio Interchange File Format) or AIFF-C (compressed) sounds on startup. For it to work, you must have a sound file named "AIFF StartupSound" (no quotes) in your SYSTEM FOLDER. Playback can be interrupted with Command-Period. Mouse button or Shift Key will disable loading of the INIT. To our knowledge, this INIT conflicts with NOTHING WHATSOEVER. (It patches no system traps.)
Please note that if you do not have any AIFF sound files, you can download same from America Online OR create your own using "AIFF Recorder 1.0," also available from AOL or from the author, above. (The registration fee for AIFF Recorder is $20.) AIFF Recorder 1.0 is a powerful utility for creating and playing back extended-length AIFF sounds using minimal system resources (150K MF partition). System 6.0.7++ required.
